Heterogeneous Computing Laboratory

The Heterogeneous Computing Laboratory (HCL) aspires to be one of the world research leaders in the field of high performance heterogeneous computing. Our vision is to propose and develop innovative ideas, models, algorithms and tools aimed at efficient and reliable solution of most challenging scientific and engineering problems on modern highly heterogeneous and hierarchical HPC platforms. The HCL is part of the School of Computer Science and Informatics at the University College Dublin.

The Heterogeneous Computing Laboratory (HCL) in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin (UCD) is seeking a suitable Postdoctoral Researcher. The position is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) as part of an SFI Investigator grant to conduct a research programme “Meeting the Future Challenges of Heterogeneous and Extreme-Scale Parallel Computing”. The project aims to address the most challenging issues of parallel computing on modern heterogeneous and hybrid compute nodes, complex large-scale heterogeneous clusters, and extreme-scale platforms. It focuses on the models, algorithms, methods, software tools, systems and development practices which will facilitate improved utilisation of the modern and perspective hardware platforms.

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge and a proven record of achievements in parallel computing, excellent mathematical and programming skills, evidence of research activity, a demonstrated commitment to research and publications, the ability and wiliness to mentor postgraduate students.

The interested candidate should apply for the position using UCD’s Online Job Application System. Please select ‘Research’ as ‘Vacancy Area’ and ‘Computer Science’ as ‘UCD School’. The position reference number is 008625 (you can also select this number when searching for the position). You will also find a more detailed description of the post there. The deadline for applications is 13 October, 2016.

If you have questions about the position or application procedure, please contact: Dr. Alexey Lastovetsky, School of Computer Science, University College Dublin, Alexey.Lastovetsky@ucd.ie.
